What is a Campaign?

Understand how campaigns differ from your portal commission rules and when to use them.

If you're new to affiliate programs, "campaign" might sound like an ad campaign — something you run to acquire traffic. In Partnersify, a campaign is something different: it's a time-limited commission promotion you run for your existing affiliates.

Campaigns vs your portal commission rules

Your Portal has a set of commission rules that apply all the time (your baseline rates). Every referred sale goes through those rules unless a campaign is active.

A campaign temporarily overrides those rules for a set window. While the campaign is running:

  • Affiliates earn the campaign's commission rate instead of your portal defaults
  • The portal can show a countdown banner so affiliates know the promotion is live
  • Sales after the campaign ends go back to your standard rates

Think of it as: portal rules are your always-on terms; campaigns are your special offers.

When to use a campaign

Campaigns work well for:

  • Seasonal pushes: increase rates during Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or your biggest sale of the year
  • Product launches: reward affiliates who drive signups in the first 30 days of a new feature or product
  • Partner incentives: run a short-term boost for a specific group of affiliates to re-engage them
  • Testing higher rates: experiment with a higher commission before committing to it permanently

What a campaign does not do

A campaign does not send any notifications to affiliates automatically. You need to email them (see Running a successful campaign).

A campaign also does not change your portal's always-on commission rules. Those stay as-is for any sales that fall outside the campaign window.

Plan requirement

Campaigns are available on Growth plans and above. On a Free plan, your portal commission rules are the only rules in play.
