Setting Up Campaign Rules

Draft, publish, and schedule campaigns, commission rules, start and end dates, portal banners, and campaign states.

Campaigns live in Campaigns in your merchant dashboard. Each campaign has its own set of commission rules, a status, and optional scheduling.

Campaign states

StatusWhat it means
DraftYou're still editing; not live for affiliates
PublishedActive and receiving attributed sales
DisabledRetired; sales history preserved, no new attributions

Start in Draft while you set up rules. Publish when you're ready to go live.

Creating a campaign

From Campaigns, click New campaign. Give it a name (affiliates don't see this (for your reference)) and start adding rules.

Campaign rules work exactly like your portal commission rules. You can set percent or flat rates, filter by product type, payment number, or affiliate tier. See How commissions are calculated for the full breakdown.

The difference: campaign rules only apply during the campaign window. Outside that window, your portal defaults take over.

Scheduling start and end dates

Set Start date and End date in your merchant timezone. The campaign activates at midnight on the start date and deactivates at midnight on the end date.

Sales attributed before the start date or after the end date fall back to your portal commission rules automatically.

Portal countdown banner

When a campaign is published, you can enable a countdown banner that appears on your affiliate portal. It shows how many days are left in the promotion.

This is a useful recruiting tool, affiliates who see "3 days left to earn 40%" are more likely to promote actively. Enable it under the campaign's Portal settings tab.

Managing multiple campaigns

You can have multiple campaigns in Draft at once, but only one Published campaign applies to new sales at a time. If you publish a second campaign while one is already running, the most recently published one takes priority.

Use Duplicate to clone an existing campaign as a starting point for next year's version.

Disabling vs deleting

  • Disable a published campaign to retire it while keeping its history
  • Delete is only available for Draft campaigns with no sales history

Never delete a campaign that's been used for real sales; disable it instead.
